As you know, this has been an extremely challenging time for everyone with new information about the COVID-19 outbreak being released daily.

We originally hoped that the Tae E. Lee Taekwondo Schools at 1300 Carling Ave. and 288½ Bank St. could remain open, and that our enhanced cleaning protocols and other measures would help all of our students feel comfortable and safe coming to class.

However, to be consistent with the actions of the provincial and municipal governments, we have made the difficult decision to close the schools from March 16 – April 5, 2020 [extended until further notice].

This was not an easy decision, but one made with the health of our students, their families, our instructors, and our community in mind. We feel it extremely important to do our part to help minimize the spreading of the virus in our community. The data and research currently available strongly suggests that social distancing is our best resort at this time to help flatten the coronavirus growth curve and mitigate the impact of the virus on our health care system.

We encourage you to maintain a regular Taekwondo training program at home in the coming weeks to help you feel better, both physically and emotionally. Although we won’t be together in the dojang, we can be together in spirit, as we train on our own. Do your best to stay positive during this challenging and unprecedented time.

We will continue to monitor the recommendations of Health Canada and Ottawa Public Health and will update you through email and/or social media.

We know that the Taekwondo school is a place of positivity for you, and we will miss seeing each of you. Thank you for your support and understanding regarding the closure.
